Celebrate America in Old Town Manassas

Tuesday, June 02, 2009

Celebrate America this Independence Day with one of the largest fireworks displays in Northern Virginia. This year Old Town Manassas is hosting an all- American beach party around the train depot and the Manassas Museum, sponsored by the City of Manassas and produced by Historic Manassas, Inc.
The festivities begin at 4pm, with live music by “Latitude”, playing beach, dance and party music at the Harris Pavilion right up until the fireworks. Jimmy Buffett meets Gloria Estefan - that's how fans describe Latitude's combination of well-crafted lyrics, contagious melodies, and great vocals. You might even get caught up in a Conga line! Just across the tracks at the train depot, boardwalk games of chance will give the kids a chance to win prizes. Rides for the kids of all ages include the Acrospring and two huge inflatable bounces. Of course there will be funnel cake and other favorite carnival foods, face painting and a red white and blue hayride.
Be sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come early to get the best seats on the Manassas Museum lawn for the fireworks display at 9:15PM! Rain date for the fireworks display will be Sunday, July 5.
